Drawing from classical chamber music, singer-songwriter Charley Marie crafts idiosyncratic folk songs. Her tender voice, evocative lyrics, and refined arrangements — featuring guitar, strings, and clarinet —f orm her distinctive sound. On 6 June, she releases her debut album Hours of the Whale, an eight-part song cycle in which the story of a stranded whale serves as a narrative thread through intimate compositions. The work offers a meditation on the transience of life, reminding us that we, as
